Dr. Theo Hill is an accomplished physician executive with 10+ years of R&D experience that is complemented by 10 years of business development leadership across different sectors. In his current role at Vertex Pharmaceuticals as Medical Director, Medical Affairs, he is developing, and leading, the Global and US strategies to launch a first-in-class gene-editing cure for patients with sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia through the translation of Nobel Prize winning CRISPR Cas9 gene-editing technology into innovative medicines.

Theo has held numerous advisory roles such as membership on the Community Investments Committee of the Lenny Zakim Fund, Advisor and Mentor for the Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP) at Harvard Medical School, and Physician Advisor for the Family Van at Harvard Medical School.

Theo earned his MD from Howard University College of Medicine; and after anesthesia residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School, he earned an MBA from the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and an MS in Healthcare Leadership from Weill Cornell Medical College at Cornell University.
